As part of our over-arching purpose to \u201cBe Community\u201d, Marmoset commits 10% of all profits <\/strong>(from our share, never the artist) to different non-profits and organizations enacting real, positive change in our community and beyond. Every quarter, we partner up with organizations fighting for social, environmental and educational equity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while we\u2019re grateful to be able contribute to these community organizations, we want to acknowledge that we couldn\u2019t do this without the help of those <\/em>within our community \u2014 the creative clients, filmmakers, directors, editors\u2026 people like you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep reading to find out more about the organizations we partnered with and how much we were able to invest directly into our community with your help last quarter.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With your help this last quarter, Marmoset was honored to invest\u00a0$33,500<\/strong>\u00a0into the following community organizations in celebration of Pride Month & Juneteenth to progress LGBTQIA+ advocacy and fight against racial inequities in the US: Basic Rights Oregon<\/a>, National Queer & Trans Therapists Network<\/a>, Outside In<\/a>, and Imagine Black<\/a>. \n

Basic Rights Oregon<\/a><\/strong> works fearlessly and tirelessly to build a strong, vibrant, powerful, and progressive movement for LGBTQ equality. LGBTQ Oregonians exist in every community, and we understand that we have to engage in strategic, values-based coalitions to address the many needs of our communities. As such, building alliances with progressive groups that advocate for working families, racial justice, immigrant rights, reproductive justice, and campaign reform will be essential to winning policies that meet the varied needs of our diverse community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, they have passed two bills<\/a> and have been working in parts of rural Oregon and in Lincoln City to protect the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, they’ve also been working on the Fair Workplace Project<\/a>, to advance equal opportunities for transgender employees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network<\/a><\/strong> is a healing justice organization that actively works to transform mental health for queer and trans people of color in North America. Together they build the capacity of QTPoC (queer and trans people of color) mental health practitioners, increase access to healing justice resources, provide technical assistance to social justice movement organizations to integrate healing justice into their work. Their overall goal is to increase access to healing justice resources for QTPoC. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Outside In<\/a><\/strong> has supported youth experiencing homelessness and other marginalized people since 1968 as they move toward improved health and self-sufficiency. Driven to meet the changing needs of those it helps, the agency has created an all-inclusive and integrated system of cutting edge and sometimes controversial wraparound services that has transformed and saved thousands of lives over the years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Imagine Black<\/a><\/strong> helps Portland\u2019s Black community imagine the alternatives they deserve, builds political participation, and supports leadership to achieve those alternatives. Read more about their recent projects here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
