We used silence as an instrument in a recent collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Our friends at&nbsp;<strong>Instrument<\/strong>&nbsp;always kill it and their newest film for&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/depactus\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Depactus<\/a>&nbsp;is nothing short of compelling. Bringing together an ominous VO narration with striking and surreal imagery brought forth a dynamic film that not only showcased the intensity of surfing, but conveyed the moodiness and awe-inspiring nature of the sea itself.<\/p>\n<p>   <iframe data-src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zO4vBz5tq70?wmode=opaque&amp;enablejsapi=1\" height=\"480\" width=\"854\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Giving respect to the humbling imagery, our team of music supervisors and composers worked on a soundtrack that accentuated the raw power of waves and what lays beneath the surface of the ocean. Our team of producers\u2014<strong>Tim Shrout<\/strong> and <strong>Rob Dennler<\/strong>\u2014worked closely with our&nbsp;Creative Director&nbsp;and co-founder&nbsp;<strong>Brian Hall<\/strong>, going with a <strong>gritty<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>powerful<\/strong>&nbsp;direction with his soundtrack. Mimicking&nbsp;the fluidity of water, his music was equal parts&nbsp;silent&nbsp;serenity and bombastic dissonance crashing in like waves on rocks.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration of music and picture is a dance.
