Alvin Cash was born Alvin Welch in St. Louis, MO in 1939, and a graduate of St. Louis's Sumner High School (and a classmate of Tina Turner). Cash and his brothers cut a tune for Chicago's One-der-ful Records, "Twine Time," a dance that was the rage on the south side of Chicago in late 1963 - and they released a handful of killer 45s. "Twine Time" became popular in the UK in the Northern soul scene in the 1970s. Marmoset is proud to represent this superbly groovy Chicago soul.
