Cargo
RockCargo originated in Toronto and signed with the Canadian label Trend Records. The label converted an old barn in the Toronto suburb of West Hill into a makeshift recording studio and office where they produced Cargo's output. Cargo is psych rock, complete with influences of the 60's like introspective lyrics, winding chord progressions, fuzzed-out guitar licks, and a sombre realism. While the group never saw fame, their songs are authentic time-pieces of the era. As lead guitarist Bruce Oxley put it in the liner notes of their full length LP; "This is our last attempt to get at you. I don't know what's been accomplished in the last four years; it can't be measured in numbers or dollars and I guess that's what really happened."
