Charles Neal
Charles Neal began his musical journey at age six, eventually mastering piano, drums, vibraphone, and classical percussion through school ensembles, church performances, and elite programs like the Lionel Hampton School of Music. After high school he expanded his craft through college studies and a wide range of freelance work, performing in genres from rockabilly to Latin jazz and co-founding the successful acid-jazz/funk group Like Family. For the past decade, Charles has remained an active force in Portland’s music scene as a performer, producer, collaborator, and composer, continuously creating and shaping new musical projects.
