Hammond organist Chris Hazelton and his flagship ensemble Boogaloo 7 evoke the sounds of late-60's/early-70's "chitlin circuit" bands with their exciting blend of soul-jazz, funk, and latin boogaloo. The music is raw and groove-driven, powered by punchy percussion, a tight horn section, and screaming Hammond B-3 organ. A 5-year Friday night residency at Kansas City's famous Green Lady Lounge has helped them hone their sound and earn a reputation as one of the top jazz acts in the midwest.
