Guitarists and songwriters Jeanette Derubeis and Kylie Slabby faced an all too common dilemma in their music making: flakey drummers. For a new project the duo decided to retain their surfy guitar leads and fuzzy grunge chords while adding 80s inspired drum machines and synth basslines to their sound. The result? Fake French; where The Go-Go’s collide with Nirvana and the riot grrls go to dance.
