good son is Chicago alt pop artist, Yoo Soo Kim. The name is a play on a Korean word 'guksung (극성)' that his dad called him when he was a kid. Roughly translating to 'polarity', it's a term lost in translation. In his case, he was a frequent troublemaker (a disruption/opposite of peace). His music is a product of his upbringing - running scales in school orchestra, raging in a punk band in his basement, while abashedly blasting Top 40 pop on his iPod.
