Gordon Keith is most famous for being the first person to ink a deal and release records of The Jackson Five. But this Gary, Indiana producer also cut some sides of his own, releasing them on his Steel Town imprint. "I'll Try to Please You" is a prime example of the high quality of not just dance numbers coming out of the Chicagoland area in the 1960s, but also the lush, romantic ballads that are so memorable from that era.
