Hailing from the Bay Area, Johnny Igaz and Jef Smother's Ill Mondo covers miles of ground in no time at all, aggregating a vast mass of worldly influences - and all of them funky. Mellotrons brew with horn stabs and string sections; Latin percussion co-mingles with rolling, Stax-style drums; and a full choir dramatically uplifts Ill Mondo's space-echo guitars. It's an infectiously groovy Oaktown house party.
