Johnny Durham
Singer, songwriter, artist, producer and WWII Veteran Johnny Durham wrote songs for major labels and publishers starting in 1949. By the 1960s, Johnny was set up in Nashville, where he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 1963. A multi-instrumentalist and talented engineer, Johnny moved seamlessly between a wide array of genres. He owned and operated Cherrywood Studios until 1977. Durham’s songs have been recorded by artists like PeeWee King, Tex Williams, Lawrence Welk’s singers, Faron Young, Sonny Wright, and Whoopee John Wilfahrt, appearing on Capitol, Columbia, Mercury and various independent labels.
