Although funk music saw its commercial peak in the 1970’s and 80’s, a number of artists are keeping the funk alive today in a fresh way. Two prime examples are Jonny Tobin and Maya Killtron, who are both from Canada.Jonny is a Grammy-nominated keyboardist and beatmaker whose music is described as a mixture of synth funk grooves and jazzy undertones, while Maya is known for her 80s-inspired funk style, which has earned her the nickname, Canada's Queen of Boogie.
