Kookie Little
SoulKookie Little was a mysterious American soul singer whose recordings have become prized discoveries among Northern Soul collectors. In 1967, she released “Basco U.S.A.” b/w “Basco” — a highly regarded mid-tempo crossover soul record that has since become a sought-after rarity. Little worked with songwriter and producer William Shepherd, adding another intriguing chapter to her elusive recording career. Although little is known about her personal life, her handful of recordings have ensured Kookie Little a lasting place among the era’s obscure and collectible soul artists. Her music is now part of the Fervor Records catalog.
