Mailani was born and raised in Kailua on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii. Mailani's musical & vocal stylings emerge from a not-so-forgotten past where "Kani ka Pila" jam sessions happened every evening after dinner in her family home. Because of Mailani's Cosmopolitan roots, she shares a passion for the ukulele, singing, and songwriting while blending the traditional indigenous native sounds of Hawaiian music with contemporary trends. Her style can be somber, then upbeat and bright, likening the mood to a day at the beach from sun up to sun down. Finally, although many of us can teach, her proudest achievement is to volunteer to teach ukulele to seniors in her home town.
