Mr. Lif

Hip Hop & Rap

Jeffrey Haynes, better known as Mr. Lif, is an alternative hip-hop artist out of Boston, Massachusetts. Known for his clever political lyricism and stellar beat work with producer EL-P, Lif's Definitive Jux output, featured here, is his most ambitious and critically-acclaimed. Lif traverses expansive boom-bap textures in an excursion of cunning social commentary and dialectic critique. Recalling the most salient golden age beats and the intellects of Gang Starr or BDP, Mr. Lif is a legend of our own time.
