Oakland, California’s Outer Embassy was born from the desire to find a distinct crossing point of '70s Krautrock experimentalism, West-African soul rhythms, and sonic synthery. Equal parts spacebeat boogie, pulsing keyboards, and starry-eyed melodies. Recorded in just a few days in August 2016 at Wyldwood Studios in Berkeley with engineer Mike Walti (Why?, Shannon & The Clams, Big Freedia), the result is a collection of songs equally balanced for late night dance floors and planetary strolls.
