Ray Donnell
PopRay Donnell was one of Arizona's promising rock-and-roll voices, rising through Phoenix music impresario Jack Curtis's influential circle. He performed regularly at Curtis's Stage 7 Teen Clubs, appeared in his Arizona Republic "Stardust" column, played KRUX Radio drive-in shows, and was a regular on KPHO's Teen Beat. Ray recorded his debut single, "Tiger Love" b/w "Never Wear a Halo," at Floyd Ramsey's Audio Recorders of Arizona with Curtis producing. Released on Mike Condello's Take 5 Records, it became a regional favorite and remains a sought-after garage rock collectible. Today, his recordings are proudly preserved by Fervor Records.
