Slick Watts
RockNamed after the legendary NBA cult hero, Slick Watts tore through stages from Chicago to California with a high-octane blend of heartland rock ’n’ roll. Formed in Rockford, IL by guitarist/songwriter Don Mackie alongside brother Brian Mackie, bassist Bruce Coppock, and drummer Joe Seely, the band built a local following and self-released their 1983 debut single, “Title Town” b/w “Rock Party.” Their momentum led to the 1987 LP "Are You Ready!!!!!!!", produced by Bob Monaco and recorded across top Chicago and Los Angeles studios, including Sound City Studios. Though the band splintered soon after, their rare LP became a cult vinyl favorite, later revived by Fervor Records for a new generation.
