Welsh conductor Wyn Morris interpretations of Mahler were particularly highly regarded. A monumental but incandescent reading of the Symphony No 8 (the Symphony of a Thousand – a studio recording with the sense of a live occasion, made as it was in the wake of two performances at the Royal Albert Hall). The recording was made with the Symphonica of London, founded by Morris himself in 1965.
