The Silkies are trying to process the mess, find the magic, and make people feel a little lighter for a few minutes. The Silkies fall somewhere within the energy of Talking Heads and Devo, the introspective mood of The Cure and Yo La Tengo, and the riffy punch of The Strokes and The Clash. This is a band for people who like their pets, like parties, like to be alone, loud stuff, quiet stuff, John Carpenter movies, Terrence Malick movies, healthy food, junk food, chorus pedals, fuzz pedals, coffee, water.
