The Singer and The Songwriter is the Oakland, CA-based duo of queer-mixed-race-Mexican-American vocalist/songwriter Rachel Garcia, and Vietnamese-American guitarist/songwriter Thu Tran. Garcia's rich, warm vocal delivery and Tran's intricate guitar arrangements blend seamlessly together in service of the poetic lyricism of their songs. The duo's multi-cultural backgrounds and eclectic influences bring depth and diversity to the rich traditions of folk, jazz and blues music; genres they navigate between with ease and fluidity.
