Truth & Janey
Formed in 1969 by Iowa guitarist Billylee Janey, Truth was a hard rock power trio inspired by Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience, blending blues, psychedelia, and proto-metal. After a naming dispute, they became Truth & Janey and built a strong Midwest following through relentless touring and electrifying shows. They released early singles in 1972 and 1973, sharing stages with Leslie West, Blue Öyster Cult, and Savoy Brown. Their 1976 LP No Rest for the Wicked became a cult classic, with original pressings fetching thousands. Inducted into the Iowa Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, their legacy now lives on through Fervor Records.
