The Accents were a South Side Chicago group from Parker High that was organized in 1963. Members were James Short (lead), James Brown, Robert Hill, and Oliver Jackson. After some months of street-corner harmonizing and developing a few original songs, the group managed to obtain a recording contract with One-derful in 1964.
