Eddie Sullivan, aka Eddie Sull, grew out of Chicago's neighborhood doo-wop scene of the 1950s - moving from the Four Gents (pictured) on to the Hyde Park group, The Enchanters. The Enchanters proved popular locally, but Sullivan's budding career was temporarily short-circuited by the war in Vietnam. Upon his return in 1966, he cut this cooking, forlorn love tune for Leo Austell's Marc label. While it didn't chart, Sullivan went on to pen a number of soul tunes in the 60s and 70s.
