Noisy electronics, distorted synths, heavy sub bass and pounding dance beats permeate the industrial and ambient sound of squarewav. It is the project of the San Francisco, CA artist Daniel M. Petersen. Desiring to create something vastly different than anything else in his catalog, the ensuing album "inherent sadness" was created as a way of dealing with the crushing fear and anxiety that had enveloped the year 2020. Pulling from influences such as Four Tet, Burial, and Jon Hopkins, squarewav aims to create sounds that are at once emotional and thought provoking to bring out the soul of a visual project.
