Hailing from St. Johns, Newton has influences in jazz, hip-hop, gospel, blues, and funk. Over the years, Farnell has toured with 3 times Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/actress Jill Scott, the Legendary Rhinestone Rockstar Bassist Bootsy Collins, and the Portland Cello Project. With his new band Union Avenue Newton pays homage to his musical upbringing featuring many greats of the Portland music scene from Chance Hayden, Arietta Ward, and many others.
