Beth Scalet
Singer-SongwriterBeth Scalet’s musical roots run deep, shaped by growing up working in her father’s music store in small-town Ottawa, Kansas, where she was exposed to everything from folk and blues to rock and country. She began playing guitar and singing early on, eventually performing solo in coffeehouses throughout the Lawrence–Kansas City area while in college. A celebrated songwriter, Scalet has earned multiple honors from the Billboard Song Contest, American Song Festival, and American Songwriter’s Association. In 2008, she won an Independent Music Award for her rendition of “St. James Infirmary Blues.”
