Carrying on his shoulders the legacy of a dynasty of Malian griots and repeating to himself that “It's getting closer and closer but I'm not there yet” Baba broke all the boundaries, becoming the first Malian to receive the Obaland Awards for Best African Jazz Musician of the Year 2018. His most appreciated satisfaction came a few years ago when he learned his firstborn, Djana Sissoko, a young and super-talented 18 year old girl, decided to follow his path and join him in the mission to deliver his meaningful message of peace and joy to the world.
