New Yorker Benny Reid, is a forward-thinking jazz musician that mixes expansive post-bop improvisation with atmospheric contemporary jazz composition. Reid was encouraged to listen to jazz from a young age and took up the saxophone in just the second grade which augmented his vision of the genre. The hues of the blues, ballads, bossanova and bop are refracted through Reid's lens of experience. His songs shine a light through jazz's prism of history, bringing clarity to it's broad spectrum of styles.
