Best known for her hit single, "Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)," Betty Everett was born in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1939 and made her way to Chicago at the age of 18 to pursue a career in music. Cutting singles for various Windy City labels she eventually landed on a major and her songs covered by Linda Ronstadt, Dusty Springfield, Elvis Costello and many others. Here we have two of Everett's early sultry soul numbers from the One-derful catalog.
