Freddy Fender was an American Tejano, country and rock 'n' roll musician signed to Louisiana’s Goldband Records. With one foot planted in multiple genres, Fender had three successful careers: as a Hispanic pop star in the late '50s, a country-pop star in the '70s, and as a member of the Grammy award-winning Texas Tornadoes in the '90s. Performing as a member of the Los Super Seven, Fender was best known for his 1975 hits “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” and “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights.”
