Mona & Maria, a duo from Oslo, Norway, are bringing their refreshing orchestral folk to the USA. They're described as harmony-based pop with folk elements and great, and often grand, arrangements, but acoustic guitar is the real kernel of their songwriting. Haunting, ethereal vocal harmonies bring to mind the ambitious '70s prog-folk of Judee Sill and Pentangle. Oh, and a spoonful of classic psychedelia in there doesn't hurt one bit.
