FolkThe artistry of a one-man band goes far beyond novelty. Beginning in the late 1960s, Wisconsin native Robert “One-Man” Johnson built a remarkable career, mastering guitar, harmonica, hi-hat, and foot piano. Blending blues-driven Americana with grit and determination, Johnson became a prolific songwriter and touring musician. Over the years, he shared the stage with artists including Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, John Prine, Willie Dixon, James Cotton, Koko Taylor, and Luther Allison, while making five appearances on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. His classic 1978 Housedog Records LP, 54 Chevrolet Panel Truck Blues, is now available from Fervor Records.
