Flamenco, a style of music created in the Andalucia region of 16th century Spain became traditionalized world-wide in the 19th century and has not been compromised by SARKIS. A native Armenian and classical musician, SARKIS was the premier featured guitar soloist in the Russian Philharmoric Orchestra for twelve years. He received the highest honors to be bestowed on a Soviet musician, that of Diplomate and Laureate of Music. Although a true flamenco artist, he has fused traditional flamenco with jazz and Latin rhythms and created a new sound that is intrinsically SARKIS. SARKIS has performed in over 700 concerts throughout Europe, the U. S. S. R. and the Middle East, and has made extensive appearances on television and radio.
