A nearly-forgotten powerhouse of soul, funk and disco, the Mighty Chevelles were a Detroit studio band for the Flaming Arrow label. This late '70s album, recorded at the Sound Pit in Atlanta, showcases their instrumental chops replete with wah guitar, congas and horn section, as one might expect. But the silky smooth delivery and thick, warm production makes this a record that has aged very well - get into this groove.
