Artist Snapshot

The most prolific Phoenix black vocal group The Tads, who had already recorded for the Liberty Bell label (The Supremes, Lee Hazlewood, etc.) produced by air-conditioning salesman and musical entrepreneur Frank Porter in 1957. The quartet would feature an ever-changing cast of members, including Duke Draper, through the end of 1961 when they disbanded.
