Originally from the Bay Area, The Tides began making music together as an outlet from everyday life. While on a day trip to Monterey, CA, they came up with the name The Tides, symbolizing the ebbs and flows of life, inspired by the violent waves coupled with the inherent calmness of the tide pools. Their music varies from deep focus guitar and synth-heavy production to elegant, traditional piano ballads, a juxtaposition they intend to capitalize on to show off their wide range of skills.
