The World Famous Upsetters were a legendary soul. outfit in the 1950s and 1960s in the Richmond, Virginia area. They sometime features Little Richard so you could perform under a pseudonym. When Little Richard wasn't involved it was Little Richard's band that he played with in the 50s and 60s playing excited and energetic soul. There's even rumors that Jimi Hendrix played with them. In the mid 60s they were led by legendary saxophone player Grady Gaines.
