Commonly regarded as South Louisiana’s premier guitarist of the 60s, Louisiana Hall of Fame inductee, Danny James, was among the most sought after session musicians of the region in his time. Recording several instrumental releases for Goldband Records, the former “The Boogie Kings” member garnered regional acclaim with his unorthodox approach to guitar playing. Often hitting the lick just slightly behind the beat, James’ distinctive soundscapes melded R&B, Cajun and Country for a “Swamp Pop” sound unique to his own.
