Desert Souls
During the 1960s and early '70s Phoenix radio DJ Hadley Murrell moonlighted as a record producer for some of the funkiest bands on the little-known but fertile Phoenix R&B circuit. This sampling of the cream of the desert town's soul output during the movement's glory days captures unknown but gifted local bands including Saxophonist Bobby Soul.
