A piano-pounding institution on the Southern Louisiana swamp blues scene during the late '50s and early '60s, Katie Webster was a session musician for Eddie Shuler's Goldband Records. In 1963, she played a show with Otis Redding and he was so taken with her talent that she then opened for Otis for the next 3 years. After a quiet period in the 70s Katie had a renaissance in the 80s and released successful albums featuring collaborations with Bonnie Raitt and Robert Cray and toured the world.
