Los Coulters are an experimental tropical cumbia group founded in Kansas City. Mark Coulter plays drums and brother John plays saxophone, keys, and bass. The band blends dark synth melodies and textures with traditional cumbia, merengue, bachata and dembow rhythms. Los Coulters have collaborated with Aléa, Jose Candelaria, Anita Ito, Llavz, Giovanny Blanco, Nash High, Marco Kalach, Marshall Trotter, and the Rick Garcia Band.
