LA-based and former Tokyo resident, Marika Takeuchi, blends composition that recalls elements of Joe Hisiashi and early Ryuichi Sakamoto with an art for narrative and nostalgia using piano, strings and subtle layers of synths and bubbling beats. Marika’s music filters her Japanese heritage through the lens of contemporary America.
