Experience a unique celebration of artistic collaboration
On Thursday, January 14th, we’re pairing filmmakers, Truen Pence, Davis Priestley and Norm Sajovie, along with musician East Forest, in a live, collaborative performance of music and picture. This is the beginning of an ongoing series of performance art we’re calling A/VEC (Audio/Visual Experiential Collaboration project).
This first installment will happen at Marmoset’s studios (2105 SE 7th Ave.) at 7:00 PM. The performance will be followed by a Q&A with the artists, and accompanied with appropriately curated food and refreshments. Seats are limited, so make sure to RSVP as soon as you can.

The story behind A/VEC
This project starts as an experiment. We pair a filmmaker with a musician, focusing on the magic between picture and sound, to see what they can dream-up, create and craft together with a limited amount of time and direction.
We ask the filmmaker to capture a few specific themes and directions. The filmmaker then quickly shoots, edits and produces a short film — with a specific musician always in the front of their mind and ideation. Then we share the film with the musician, challenging them to compose, arrange and perform a live soundtrack for the film — the whole thing captured in front of a live audience. We’re hoping, dreaming and anticipating the result will provide a new, exciting experiential collaborative performance, dovetailing both the spontaneity and the magic found when music and film synchronically combust.
