It takes a village to write songs like this.

The music of the 7-piece ensemble The Soil & The Sun is steered by driving rhythms and a huge array of instrumentation.  These “experiential” songs are filled with piano, guitars, woodwinds, strings, accordion, and soaring vocal harmonies. Where classical meets spaced-out folk rock.

In this brief and impactful instrumental, “Engadine” is a journey into whimsical territory with a slight hint of mystery. Heavily based with percussion, this track meanders into a reflective outro with mandolin and strings that softly serenades into a pensive state.

Emotional and cinematic, “One Woman” rushes at you with big drums, electric guitar and synthesizer. Keeping at a steady pace, this composition unfolds with beautiful vocal harmonies and revelatory melodies. Empowering and human at the core, this one will surround you in a huge landscape of sound.

Don’t be fooled by the title, “The Devil Made Me Do It” is one of their more hopeful pieces. This well-crafted song intimately presents a vibe that is honorable and ethereal, feeling like the first exhale being home after a long journey.
