Earlier this month, we announced the release of our forthcoming album, Transference — reimagining honored, distinguished musical artifacts from the Public Domain — and the premiere of its first single, “Out Among the Sheltering Pines” by The Helio Sequence.
Today, we’re excited to share the second single off of the album. Earlier this morning, Paste Magazine premieredthe second single off of the album, a version of the 1896 composition, “Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight,” as knocked out of the park by beloved Portland-based R&B and soul ensemble, Ural Thomas and The Pain. Produced by Katy Davidson, the song is a rollicking rock ‘n’ roll revival, built on soulful vocals, flares of lively brass and playful piano notes. Stay tuned for more announcements coming up and the album’s release on December 1st.
