Standing With the Minneapolis Community

To our friends, artists, clients, partners, and extended community,

The spirit of Minneapolis—neighbors protecting neighbors and refusing to look away—offers profound hope. In moments like this, our shared humanity is essential.

What is unfolding in Minneapolis is part of a horrific, nationwide pattern. Communities are suffering under a horrific ICE occupation that ignores due process and targets marginalized people, tearing families apart. Protesters exercising their rights are met with fatal violence. With public trust in government at historic lows, we all have a responsibility to act when systems of power operate without restraint.

At Marmoset, we believe action speaks louder than words. Please join us in supporting Minneapolis-based organizations providing legal aid, emergency resources, and community protection.

Here’s a few other tangible ways to show up:

  • Financially support local Minneapolis organizations providing legal defense and mutual aid. Resources like musicindustrysaysiceout.com and standwithminnesota.com are good starting points.
  • Amplify the voices of those directly impacted.
  • Show up to protest if you are able, and protect the most vulnerable.
  • Refuse to normalize injustice by having hard conversations.
  • Join the nationwide strike and boycott on Friday, January 30th, supporting a “no work, no school, no shopping” boycott to demand a scale-down of ICE operations.

In solidarity with the people of Minneapolis, our immigrant communities, and all who are threatened or harmed, Marmoset will participate in the nationwide boycott and strike this Friday, January 30th.

While we are committed to our clients and the work we do, we are equally committed to our community and our values. For anyone with urgent needs, please contact us on Thursday, January 29th or Monday, February 2nd. For emergencies, we always have eyes on our inbox at creative@marmosetmusic.com.

While we are closed for business, Marmoset’s HQ in Portland will be open for our staff to lead community action, prep for protests, have conversations, and to hold some space.

This crucial work is a marathon, not a sprint. It demands that we continue to show up for one another with care, resolve, and humanity.

Our hearts are with the Minneapolis community. We stand with you.

Sincerely,

Ryan Wines
