With every conversation that you have with Philippe Bronchtein (aka Hip Hatchet) you learn that he is a man of many talents. He is able to hold up a conversation with you about his career as a modern dancer…in French. With this said, Philippe can also make your heart cry with his incredible guitar picking and woeful lyrics of love lost in a seedy bar room brawl.
Often traveling across the country solo and playing in bars that echo his subject matter, to large festivals like SXSW, where he’s filmed and broadcasted to an audience of 39,000 listeners. With a voice well beyond his age, Philippe carries the torch of the underdog finding solace amongst the chaos of travel.
We’re so excited to be working with Hip Hatchet and bringing him on to our roster. He comes with two albums under his belt with heavily arranged songs complete with horns, intricate guitar work, and soul-filled vocals.
