Marmoset’s Q1 2024 Community Investments

As part of Marmoset’s overarching purpose, Be Community, we invest 10% of all profits (from our share, never the artists’) in nonprofits and organizations enacting real, positive change in our community and beyond. Every quarter, we partner up with organizations fighting for social, environmental and educational equity.

We couldn’t do this without you – our clients, who choose Marmoset. Your business keeps our lights on and allows us to give back to our community.

Keep reading to find out more about the organizations we partnered with and how much we were able to invest directly with your help last quarter. You can also learn more about our community investments and purpose-driven work in our 2024 Transparency Report.

As a company dedicated to creating positive change, Marmoset is proudly engaged in supporting our community near and far. Throughout Q1 of 2024, we invested $9,000.00 in five different organizations, which the majority of our investments focused on organizations providing essential services to the homeless community. Read on to learn more about the organizations we contributed to:

  • Marmoset allocated $2,500 towards p:ear, an organization based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to empowering homeless youth through education, art, and mentorship. p:ear provides a safe space where young people can access essential resources, including meals, hygiene facilities, and counseling services. Through their innovative programs, they aim to break the cycle of homelessness and foster personal growth and stability among vulnerable youth in the community.
  • Another $2,500 from Marmoset went to support The People Concern, an organization in Los Angeles, California, committed to providing comprehensive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. Through outreach, housing support, mental health services, and addiction treatment, The People Concern works tirelessly to address the complex needs of those living on the streets.
  • Additionally, Marmoset directed $2,500 towards Backpacks for the Streets, a grassroots initiative based in New York City, focusing on providing essential supplies and support to the homeless population. Through their backpack distribution program, they offer necessities such as food, clothing, toiletries, and blankets to those in need. Beyond material aid, Backpacks for the Streets also prioritizes building relationships and offering emotional support, recognizing the importance of human connection in addressing the challenges of homelessness.

We also contributed $1,000 to Imagine Black, which helps our Black community imagine the alternatives they deserve and build political participation and leadership to achieve those alternatives. And finally, we also contributed $500 to PETA, as part of a collaboration for a YouTube placement that aired during the Super Bowl, which we provided music for at no cost.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our customers, artists, and partners for their unwavering support, which enables us to make these impactful investments. Their contributions are the cornerstone of our efforts to create meaningful change and leave a lasting impact on the communities we are privileged to serve. As we embark on this journey forward, we are eager to explore new opportunities that further our mission of fostering positive change and building a legacy of compassion and empowerment.
