Things got funky this month on the Marmoset roster — and not in the gym bag/steamed brussel sprouts/old vintage jacket kind of way. Our A&R Team has been busy adding more than 30 new artists to the roster this October, welcoming in a swath of smooth, classic funk and soul artists to our Vintage Collection, as well as the more modern funk of groups like Minneapolis-based 7 piece, Pho, or Nooky Jones.
But of course, it’s not all funky. This month’s New Artist Roundup mixtape also features the breezy Hawaiian reggae of Ryan Hiraoka, the folky harmonies and Americana instrumentation of Darling West and the electropop bangers of Work Party. Funk fan or not, there’s enough goodness packed in these songs to keep you grooving for days.
